What is the SeeKER Project?

Starting in November 2009, I will periodically hang a new canvas in a public location and leave it there. The first to discover it can take it - "finders keepers". I will take a picture and post the location of the drop on this page, for those of you who want a head start. The purpose of the project is not only to share free, original art, but also to build a story behind each painting. So finders are encouraged to share any details about how they came across each painting.

Where will it happen?

Most of the drops will be around San Diego and neighboring cities, due to the fact that I live there. But I also love to travel and will try to bring a canvas or two with me for other locations.

When/ How often?

I would like to hang a canvas every 2-3 weeks, but it all depends on sales and how many custom orders I have to complete. The project is funded solely by the sales from this site, so the more I sell - the more i can give away.

Inspiration:

Living in San Diego, I am surrounded by graffiti and street art. With an abundance of construction sites, alleys, and sewers, such as the infamous Home Ditch, it's hard not to admire the incredible talent that some of these graffiti artists have. But with the advancing graffiti cover-up programs, you see a good tag one day and the next day it's painted over, gone forever. With the SeeKER Project, you get to take the art off the wall and keep it forever.
