Every year on June 21st, skateboarders unite to celebrate the greatest day of the year... Go Skateboarding Day! This year I celebrated the day at Willys Workshop's combined Go Skateboarding Day/ Skate & Donate event in Mira Mesa. For the last year or so, Willy Santos has been hosting fundraiser after fundraiser to raise enough money to build a free skatepark for the Mira Mesa community. Thus came about the "Skate & Donate" events, in which companies would donate products for attendees to win from Willy's $1 "Spin & Win" wheel. Anyone with $1 could pay to spin the wheel and a chance at winning prizes such as shirts, skateboards, stickers, etc. This year I finally had enough product to get involved, so I decided to donate some 6Gun shirts to the cause. The rest of the day was full of sun, skating, burgers, donations, and fun. Thank you to all who came out to celebrate Go Skateboarding Day and support the Mira Mesa Skatepark fund. Hopefully some of you left with a fresh, new 6Gun shirt to rep. See you at the next Skate & Donate event!
